So as to arrive at Stara Kamienica you need to get on the road from Jelenia Góra-Sobieszów through Kromnów. After you reach Stara Kamienica you have to drive straight ahead at the crossroads toward Barcinek and after traveling about 600 m turn into the first asphalt road to the left. It is very narrow and is located beyond church. Then drive straight on and the tower would stand on the left side just by the road.

History of the castle in Stara Kamienica is enveloped in veil of mystery. The first reference to the local borough originates in the forgery from 1242. A wooden-earth defensive construction was the then passed to a progenitor of the Schaffgotsch house, a knight Siboto by duke Bolesław Rogatka. What was happening with the castle in the Middle Ages is unknown. Faint information originate just from the latter times. In the middle of the XVIth cent. Hans Ulrich von Schaffgotsch built a new mansion there, which was destroyed during the Thirty Year’s War. The reconstructed building was consumed by fire in 1758 and abandoned since then was falling into ruin.
