Driving directions:Płonina is situated around 25 km east of Jelenia Góra. You can reach there down the road no 3 from Jelenia Góra to Bolków. After covering 18 km, in Kaczorów, you ought to turn right, into the road no 328 toward Kamienna Góra. Right past Kaczorów you must turn left, into the road without the number toward Bolków. On your way there is Płonina. In the village DO NOT turn left toward Stare Rochowice, but after covering about 300 m, on the hillock, at the sharp turn right there is a stony road to the left leading to the campsite/RV park. you need to walk down that road and follow the yellow trail. The trail leads up to a shut castle gate.
Historical outline:The former name: Nimmersath
The castle Niesytno has never been researched therefore its origins are not known. The written sources for the first time make mention of the castle in 1432. It was then the property of the knight Henryk Czyrna, who collaborated with the Hussites, and his occupation was apparently the banditry. The successive owners of Płonina were keeping that disgraceful tradition alive. In 1455 the burghers of Świdnica captured and partially destroyed the castle. Probably in the XVIth cent. the castle was abandoned as around 1545 the von Zedlitzs started to build a new mansion.
