Driving directions:Driving down the road no 33 from Bystrzyca Kłodzka towards Boboszów, in Domaszków you must turn right towards Różanka. After covering a few kilometers you need to turn right again, this time into the road no 389 towards Kudowa Zdrój. Driving down the forest road uphill, on the right side of the road there is a parking lay-by. There you must leave Your car and return around 50 m downhill. Then go right and follow the blue trail to the castle.
Historical outline:The former name: Schnalenstein
The history of the Szczerba castle is practically unknown, since no historical documents on its subject exist. The reference to the stronghold appears in only two documents. The first of them, from 1358 says that the owner of the castle was Otto Schuler, Otton von Glaubitz’s son. The second piece of information tells about Bernard, "The lord of Szczerba". On the ground of these residual information as well as on the basis of excavation data it may be assumed that the castle was built by the Glaubitz and it was used in the XIVth and the XVth cent. Presumably the stronghold was destroyed during the Hussite wars and it has never been rebuilt.
